Hawaiian Airlines partnered with FORMIA and Hawaiʻi lifestyle brand Noho Home by Jalene Kanani to design its in-flight amenities with a focus on sustainability and rooted in aloha.

“Noho” means “to be, to dwell, or to come from” in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language). The Noho Home designs, inspired by Hawaiian Airlines newest Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner premium cabin, the Leihōkū Suites, brings a sense of place and comfort to both local Hawai‘i residents (kamaʻāina) and visitors alike as they embark on their journey.

Business Class guests are offered amenities made with responsibly sourced materials such as a recycled plastic canvas clutch containing a bamboo toothbrush, toothpaste in recycled aluminium tube, and FSC certified kraft paper/wheat straw pen. Additional amenities are offered a la carte, including recycled plastic eyeshades and Lōliʻi signature body products in cosmetic tubes made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. The a la carte amenities allows for reduction in waste and provides a more relevant, customized experience for guests.

Inspiration for the designs came from the native Hawaiian practice of “kilo,” careful and constant observation, and tells a story of exploration through colours, designs and textures. The recycled plastic canvas clutch features the “Kilo Hōkū” design inspired by breathtaking timelapse photography of the night sky. “Kilo Hōkū” means “stargazer” in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi, the Hawaiian language, and this awe-inspiring pattern weaves a wreath of stars, symbolizing the eternal nature of the cosmos.

From the moment guests settle into their seats until they reach their destination, these amenities remind us that the spirit of aloha is always within reach—a comforting path leading us home.
